We won't transcribe all of the book Biographical Sketches of Representative Citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts because information published after this book was published in 1901 surpasses some of the presumed birth dates in this document. But we will transcribe the reference to the William Shackford referenced above:
William 3, Shackford, born in 1702 [sic, now estimated at 1706, jsp], who died in 1772, married Cotober 5, 1727, Susanna Downing. He was commissioned Captain in 1748 for invasion of Canada, and in 1750 was Captain at Fort Dummer.
