RootsTech is focusing on family history storytelling and tools that help connect researchers to others who are researching the same family trees. There is so much to learn more about these important topics!
At today's presentation, Ancestry just made an announcement that they will be partnering with FamilySearch over the next four years to make more probate and wills searchable. I've found some Shackford wills on Family Search but it takes a lot of time to find a specific probate because these documents are not yet indexed so I look forward to these future features which will help researchers find probate and wills which often contain great source information about family relationships.
Laura Prescott who is talking right now just discussed the Library of Congress Chronicling America which I frequently use. However from her presentation I learned that this source lists all newspapers from each town, not just those that are already scanned. She's also listing multiple great free WEB sources. I think her presentation will be replayed later tonight.
I'm off to watch more about these great presentations from RootsTech!
