From this Army Invalid card, we learn that Granville Shackford who served in the Civil War with the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers, Company B received $30/month starting on October 1896 for his disability of chronic diarrhea and res dis rectum. We also learn that Granville lived in Old Orchard, Maine and died December 11, 1916.
Granville Shackford (1840-1916)
Granville Shackford was born February 13, 1840 in Sanford, Maine to Christopher Shackford and Mehibital Maddox
Granville remained in Sanford with his parents and his sisters Serena and Georgianna in 1850
On April 2, 1870, Granville's father Christopher died in Saco.
On June 12, 1872 Granville married Melvina D Currier and was living on a farm on Boom Road beyond Berry Road in Saco. On February 4, 1873 their daughter Jesse Marie was born

Jesse Maria Shackford (1873-1939) – married Howard Gilpatric in 1899.
