We have not yet found Elizabeth's birth record but based on the 1850 census she may have been the daughter of Isaac Leighton and Theodate Garland who were living in Effingham, New Hampshire with Elizabeth and a sister Almira who is mentioned in the obituary. The only information we can contribute beyond this obituary regarding Elizabeth's life is that she may have been predeceased by a son Franklin Sherman Shackford (1864-1868). We are still looking for more information about him.
