We're not sure where Clara lived after she left the Asylum but she was 18 and working as a domestic on January 10, 1889 in Boston when she married Albert E Spauding, a railroad brakeman born in Canada. By 1890 they had moved to Lyndon, Vermont where he worked as a rail road carpenter and their family had grown by two children Esther and Howard. In 1910 the family continued to live in Lyndon. On February 25, 1918, their son Howard Rollins Spaulding who had also been working for the railroad entered the Army, was sent overseas on May 11, 1918 and died of pneumonia on November 21st.
The family stayed in Lyndon for a few years but sometime after 1920 moved to Concord, then moved to New Haven, Connecticut where by 1930 Albert was working as a watchman for an orphan asylum. In 1940 we find Albert at the age of 75 working as a parking lot attendant.
We haven't been able to learn the location of Albert or Clara after 1940.
