The will let's us know that Samuel has one living child - Nancy Walker Jenness and one deceased son, Samuel Shackford. Samuel leaves his daughter Nancy all of his property in Stafford and leaves each of his grandchildren from his late son Samuel $50 to be paid six years after his death. He appointed Nancy's husband Benning W Jenness as the executor of his estate.
Samuel stated that he was weak in body in 1837 when he wrote his will but he lived five more years, dying of influenza on October 21, 1843 at the age of 91.
Will of Samuel Shackford
In the name of God Amen
I Samuel Shackford of Strafford
in the County of Strafford and State of New-
Hampshire husbandman being weak in body but of
sound and perfect memory blessed be Almigh-
ty God for the same do make and publish
this my last will and testament in ????? and in form that
is to say:
First I give and bequeath to my only
daughter Nancy Walker Jenness wife of Ben
ning W Jenness all my homestead farm situ-
ate in Strafford in the County of Strafford
and State of New Hampshire whereas I now
lieve to have and to hold the same to her and
her hiers [sic, jsp] and assigns forever.
I do also give and bequeath unto each
of my grandchildren the sons & daughters of
my late son Samuel Shackford Jr deceased
to each one of them the sum of Fifty dollars
apeice [sic, jsp] to be paid unto them respectively or
the survivors of them at the expiration of six
years after my decease should any of my Grand
children aforesaid die within six years after
any decease it is not extended any thing should
be paid out of my estate to the heirs of any
of them that might die within six years after
my decease and lastly as to all the rest
residue and remainder of my real and person-
al estate whatsoever after the payment of all
my just debts and legacies I give and be-
queath the same to said Nancy W Jenness also
to her all property both real and personal
which has or may fall to me by heirship
and to her executors administrators and as-
signs to her and their own use and benefit
forever.
And I do hereby constitute and apoint
Benning W Jenness my sole Executor of this my
last will and testament hereby revoking all
former wills by me made

my hand and seal this sixth day of Novem-
ber A.D. 1837.
