We learn in a short Outing magazine article that from May - Sept 1989 Mr Gould took the Niagara to Norway and with further research we learn that more detail about the cruise can be found in the February 1900 Metropolitan Magazine article by Frank Leroy entitled "Niagara's" Cruise in Northern Seas," Unfortunately, the Google books scan of this magazine is missing a few pages in the middle of the wonderful, very thorough description of this trip which states that they traveled to Queenstown; along the coast of Scotland; Alexandrosk, Russia; St. Petersburg (where he met Grand Duke Alexis); Molde, Norway (where they met the German Emperor); and ended the cruise in New York. When we find the entire article, we may create and share a map of this cruise.
The short article about this trip from the Outing which led us to other articles about this journey is transcribed below:
Mr. Howard Gould's steam yacht Niagara
has started on a voyage to Norway. She will
touch at the Azores, and after a brief sojourn in
British waters will continue on to Spitzbergen
touching at many points of interest in the Land
of the Midnight Sun. Niagara is commanded
by Captain Shackford and carries a ship's com-
pany of sixty-five all told.
