We don't know much about Ada's short life but from her death record, we know that she was diagnosed with tubercular enteritis, a form of pulmonary tuberculosis that moves into someone's GI tract. We also know that she only lived for seven months and thirteen days.
It must have been both a very sad and a very scary time in the Shackford household when little Ada died. The Shackford family had just lost their youngest child from a disease that was very contagious and there were six other young children at home. We do not know if any of the other children became ill but do know that all six lived until adulthood and that Stephen and Ada went on to have at least six more children.
We don't know where in Wakefield that little Ada was buried and hope this blog helps us remember her short life.
