To all People to whom these Presents Shall Come. Whereas Lois
Greenleaf of Newburyport in the County of Essex Commonwealth of Massachu-
setts widow and administratise of the Estate of Richard Greenleaf late of New-
buryport in the County of Essex mariner deceased by an order of the supreme ju-dicial Court which was began and holden at Salem in said County on the last
Tuesday of April A D 1810 was licensed to make sale of the Real Estate of the said
Richard Greenleaf of far as should be necessary for the payment of his just,
debts and for incidental charges. Therefore Know ye That the said Louis
Greenleaf as aforesaid as well by virtue of the Power and authority to me given
as aforesaid as in consideration of the sum of seventy three dollars and fifty cents
paid me by Levi Shakford of Newburyport and Humphrey Lake of Gloucester the
receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and
do hereby in said capacity grant bargan sell and convey and convirm unto them the said
Levi Shackford & Humphrey Lane heirs and assigns forever, one undivided six part
of a house lot situate in Newburthe y County and Commonwealth aforesaid with
the building thereon adjoining Water Street it being the same Estate that Thos
Greenleaf purchased of Joseph and Mary Slidden as by their deed will appear
dated the twelfth day of February A D 1762 and Recorded ______ Also
one undivided sixth part of a Galery Pew in the Revd Mr Miltons meeting house
number fifty. The above six part sold with the remembrance of the widows
Lydia Greenleafs dower. To have and to hold the same with all the privil
priviliges and appertenances thereof to them the said Levi and Humphry heirs
and assigns forever, and I do hereby in the capacity aforesaid covenant with the
said Levi and Humphrey their heirs and assigns that the said Richard Greenleaf
died seized of the Premises that I am duly licensed by the said Court to make
sale thereof and that it was necessary the same should be sold for the purposes
aforesaid. That Previous to the intended sale I took the oath by Law prescribed
and gave public notice thereof according to the directions of the Law in such
cases made and provided and that the said Levi and Humprhrey offered most for
the said Premises and the same was theeupon stuck off to them for the sum afore
said at a public venue held at the house of the deceased on the eleventh day
of July AD1810, and I do further in the capacity aforesaid covenant to & with
the said Levi and Humphrey their heirs and assigns that the Premices are free
of all incumbrances that I will warrant secure and defend the same to them
the said Levi and Humphrey their heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful
claims and demands of all Persons. In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this eleventh day of July anno Domini one thousand
