This example of Robert S Shackford's record lets us know that he was born in Aguscalientes, Mexico on Jan 3, 1889, that his father was Charles E Shackford who was born in Portland, Maine and has now deceased, that he resided outside the US twice from 1914 to 1921, that his current residence is Newton, Massachusetts and was working as a salesman, and that this is his second passport request. We learn that he plans to travel to Holland, Belgium, Norway, France, and England to arrange a papermill connection for importation of paper. Robert plans to sail from New York aboard the Ryndam on November 19, 1921. We also see Robert's signature and on page two we find a description of Robert, a letter from Francis O Ball who lives in Winthrop and knew Robert for seven years. We also find his photograph which will be shared in a future article.
So far we've found passport records for the following Shackfords:
Ida A Shackford (1885-1977)
Clara L Shackford (1873-1958) (seems to have 2 copies of the same record)
Robert Smith Shackford (1889-1953) (also listed as Robert T Shackford)
and
Martha Hale Shackford (1875-1963)
