In the 1900 census, he is listed in Canaan with his mother who is working as a sewing machine operator while his father is listed as a boarder in another home living with the Hill family. By the 1910 census, when Rollo was 20, he was working as a machinist while living in Plainfield, New Hampshire with his uncle Alphonso Chambers. On March 20, 1915 he married Emma Jane Williams, the daughter of George and Alice (Devenger) Williams. Sometime thereafter they moved to Springfield, Vermont where at the age of 27, Rollo completed his World War I draft registration card on which he stated that he was supporting his mother and wife and had previously served as a Private in the 1st N. H. Infantry. Unfortunately Rollo died at the age of 28 of pneumonia and influenza on October 18, 1918. His widow Emma Jane married Joseph Isreal Davey and lived to the age of 80.
