We believe the John to be Levi's brother who married Esther Woodwell in Newburyport in 1780 and moved to Eastport in 1783. The land sale document states that John lives in Pasamaquoddy, Washington, Massachusetts and lists his occupation as Cooper (from Wikipedia "cooper is someone who makes wooden, staved vessels, bound together with hoops and possessing flat ends or heads". We do not yet know how or when John obtained this land as we have not yet analyzed John's land purchases.
From the land sale, we also learn that Levi Shackford is a Shipwright. (This is the first source describing Levi's occupation!!!)
The land is described as having 1/2 a dwelling house, containing seventeen rods and five feet and bounded by land of William Rogers, land of Edward Sweasy (or Swasy), and a street called New Lane.
