Shrine Potentate's Daughter Engaged
The engagement is announced of Miss Rutha Shackford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Shackford of Dorchester, and George A. Cook of the same place. The father of the bride-to-be is the new potenate of Aleppo Temple, Mystic Shrine, of Boston. Mr. Cook is master of Gate of the Temple Lodge, A. F. and A. M. of Dorchester.
I have not yet found an official record of their marriage, but the Harvard College Class of 1897 Twenty-fifth Anniversary Report 1897-1922 lists the marriage date for George Lawrence Cook and Rutha Shackford as Oct 15, 1913 and George L Cook states that he is a practicing architect working in Dorchester.
